Sweet Buzz Japan is your guide to the latest Japanese snacks and desserts, from convenience store hits to limited-edition treats and viral sweets.

If you love photogenic Japanese ice cream and fruit sweets, keep an eye out for “3D Fruits Ice”, a brand-new series from Gold Star, a subsidiary of Jelly Beans Group. Launching nationwide from December 1, 2025, these frozen treats are designed to look just like real fruit – and they’re made to taste just as vibrant.

3D Fruits Ice is a line of frozen desserts shaped like whole pieces of fruit.
Instead of the usual flat bar or cup, each ice cream recreates the 3D form of the fruit itself – think a strawberry, lemon, or mango that looks like it has been lifted straight from a fruit bowl and turned into ice.

The concept focuses on

  • “Wow” visuals: eye-catching, 3D shapes that are perfect for photos and social media.
  • Rich fruit taste: vivid colors and flavors that come from using fruit puree and juice.
  • Balanced sweetness: a natural-tasting sweetness and smooth melt-in-the-mouth texture, created with a fruit-first recipe and reduced additives, in line with today’s health-conscious trends.

It’s designed as a sweet that kids and adults can enjoy together, rather than being only for children or only for gourmet dessert fans.

Where You Can Find It

3D Fruits Ice is planned to roll out at major convenience stores, supermarkets, and large retail chains across Japan. That means you’re likely to spot it in your usual snack and ice cream aisles as the winter season starts.
